Targets for the Late Week 7 FanDuel College Football Contests
The obvious challenge in the week7 late contests is to find a way to afford the Boykin/Doctson stack. With top pass defenses in this slate including Florida, LSU, Wake Forest, Mizzou, Penn State and Washington, scoring outside of TCU could be at a premium. In fact, I’m using Boykin, Green, Turpin, and Doctson together in multiple lineups…
DraftKings only has one more game that FanDuel on their late slate, so our lineups there will be built around Boykin and Doctson as well. So just who are we filling in around Boykin and Doctson in our lineups?
Nick Wilson – $8,200
Wilson likely would have likely had a 30+ point game last week had he not had to leave the game with a forearm injury. He’s been limited in practice this week but is expected to start against Colorado on Saturday night. Colorado is currently the 102nd ranked run defense in the country, giving up over 210 yards per game so it’s a better matchup, at a much more affordable price than the top guys in this slate.
Elijah Hood – $5,800
The UNC offense, in general, has been disappointing this season, but Hood has been their most consistent weapon. He is averaging 16 FanDuel PPG despite only averaging just over 14 touches per. Wake Forest actually has a top 5 pass defense this season, but has struggled against the run, allowing over 173 yards per game.
Robbie Anderson – $6,300
It was right around this time last season that Robbie Anderson really kicked it in. For whatever reason, he struggles outside of the AAC. He went off against UCF for 8/164/2 or just over 32 FanDuel points in this game last season. UCF’s pass defense has even taken a step backward and Temple QB P.J. Walker played two of his better games over the past two weeks.
Kavontae Turpin – $4,900
It’s clear that TCU wants to get the 5’9″ true freshman Turpin involved any way they can, and that should mean consistent opportunities in an explosive offense for a guy that is priced at only $4,900 on FanDuel.
K.J. Brent – $4,600
K.J. Brent has taken a backseat to Cortez Lewis in the Wake Forest passing attack, in part due to the recent schedule. Lewis works short routes while Brent is somewhat more of a downfield threat. With a much more favorable matchup against the UNC pass defense, you can expect Brent to get more opportunities here and at $4,600 he’s a solid punt play in a slate that doesn’t offer many.
Cam Serigne – $3,000
Serigne is one of Wake Forest’s main receiving options and actually leads the team in touchdown receptions with 2… He was averaging 7/70 in the three games leading up to last week’s Boston College game, and will likely need to be productive for Wake to hang with UNC this week.
Sean Culkin – $2,000
If you are going to punt at tight end, Culkin may be worth a look. Coming off injury, Culkin wasn’t expected to play in this game, but is ahead of schedule and already practicing. He’s arguably the most talented tight end in this slate and could be a steal if he’s healthy.
