Targets for Early FanDuel College Football Contests
This is the week that it seems the entire college football season has been leading up to. Week 12 officially marks the beginning of the end, we should start to get clarity in the Big 10 in the MSU vs OSU game, and certainly will in the Big 12 with the Baylor vs OSU and OU vs TCU contests. That being said, college football is winding down and we need to take full advantage of these final weeks.
Quarterback Targets for FanDuel’s Early CFB Contests
FanDuel Price – $7,500
As cold as Bercovici has been the past couple of weeks, Arizona’s defense has been much, much worse. They have given up at least 30 points in every game and are giving up an average of 39 PPG over that stretch. Bercovici racked up 46 points in a game three weeks ago against Oregon that had a very similar pace to what I expect to see in this high scoring Pac 12 matchup.
FanDuel Price – $6,000 – $6,500
Both of these guys may pick up a start in a system offense that each has proven very capable of running. If Randall starts, he’s a lock for 100 yards rushing and at least 3 touchdowns against the struggling Sun Devils defense. Postma is a talented JC transfer that looked better throwing the ball last week than Greg Ward has looked in weeks. He led his JC team to 12-0 record last season, throwing for 3,300 yards and 39 touchdowns and running for another 5 scores… He scored 24 points in limited playing time against Memphis after Ward left with an ankle injury.
Running Back Targets for FanDuel’s Early CFB Contests
FanDuel Price – $7,800
We were on Joseph Yearby last week against the porous UNC run defense, but the game got away from Miami and they abandoned the run despite the fact that Yearby was averaging 6 YPC. Virginia Tech won’t make the same mistake under Frank Beamer, and the game certainly won’t get away from their defense quite as fast as it did with Miami. Look for McMillian to record his 3rd multi-touchdown game in Tech’s last 4 contests this week, and to register his first 30 point FanDuel performance of the season.
FanDuel Price – $7,600
We originally had Devontae Booker slated here, but he is now out for the rest of the regular season so we are simply swapping him out for Smallwood. Smallwood has seen his workload grow over the past month, and is now carrying the ball 20+ times per week and is carrying the West Virginia offense. This is his best matchup of the season (Kansas has the nation’s 124th ranked run defense) but Smallwood’s price has swelled to $7,600 and he will need the best game of his young career to reach 4x value this week.
FanDuel Price – $4,500
Wayne Gallman was downgraded to doubtful for the Wake Forest game this morning. If Gallman can’t go, Brooks is a ready, capable senior that will fill in without missing a beat. Wake has one of the weaker run defenses in the ACC, and the 13th strongest pass defense, so if he does get the start this week, Brooks should be busy. Playing limited snaps, Brooks has 4 touchdowns in Clemson’s last 6 games.
Wide Receiver Targets for FanDuel’s Early CFB Contests
FanDuel Price – $7,500
JuJu has gone over 22 points on FanDuel in 6 of his last 9 games, and faces the nation’s 120th pass defense this week in Oregon. The Ducks have been decimated recently including a 400 yard, 5 touchdown by Bercovici 3 weeks ago. If Smith has the type of game we are expecting, it should be his first 30 point performance since mid-September.
FanDuel Price – $6,400
This is going to be a high-scoring game and the type of game Carrington has excelled in since returning to the Ducks lineup. With 7 touchdowns in his last 6 games and 5 100+ yard performances over that stretch, Carrington is arguably the hottest receiver in college football, but inconsistencies at quarterback and missing the first half of the season have kept his price under $7,000.
FanDuel Price – $5,700
Robby Anderson has quietly been one of the most productive receivers in college football throughout his career. He has 15 touchdowns in his last 15 games, but missed all of last season after being ruled academically ineligible. He should have his best game of the season this week, as an improving Temple passing game faces Memphis’ 124th ranked pass defense.
FanDuel Price – $4,900
You have to be careful with any ASU receiver, in fact we generally hedge all of our Tim White lineups with a corresponding Devin Lucien lineup, but this is one game where I think White, Lucien, and Foster are capable of putting up big numbers. White has proven to have the highest upside and actually has more receptions than Lucien and the same number as Foster over ASU’s last 6 games.
Tight End Targets for FanDuel’s Early CFB Contests
FanDuel Price – $2,500
Those of you that have followed our college football picks for the past two months already knew who our tight end pick was going to be… Not a great matchup, but he is guaranteed to be part of the game plan for Wisconsin, and at $2,500 you aren’t completely punting but definitely creating space for the bigger names above.
