DraftKings Picks for Early Week 8 College Football Contests
Another 17 game Saturday early slate on DraftKings with the Baylor Bears… meaning we get to find creative ways to afford the Russell/Coleman stack again in week 8. Here is a look at the Vegas team totals for the week with Baylor projected to score 15 more points than the next highest team:

DraftKings Week 8 CFB QB Picks
DraftKings Salary – $9,400
An obvious can’t-miss pick, I know, but he continues to produce out of this world numbers. Once again, he didn’t play a full game last week, but still managed to put up 63 points against West Virginia. I’m not expecting that out of Russell again this week, but he’s a lock for 40+ against a bad Iowa State pass defense.
DraftKings Salary – $6,700
I get it’s Alabama’s defense, but $6,700? Dobbs is a gamer that produces in the biggest games. The Vols are coming off of a bye and Dobbs is averaging over 33 DraftKings points per game in SEC play this season (Georgia, Arkansas, Florida). I think he finishes this game right around 28 points which is 4x+ value and a nice value at quarterback this week.
DraftKings Salary – $5,300
Michigan State’s secondary is a shell of of what it’s been in recent years. What was already a thin/inexperienced unit has been decimated by injury. They are now starting a true freshman cornerback to go along with safeties that have been suspect to big plays all season. I love Sudfeld, Ricky Jones and Simmie Cobbs as nice value plays this week.
DraftKings Week 8 CFB RB Picks
DraftKings Salary – $7,500
With Auburn giving up over 200 yards per game on the ground, this game being in Arkansas, and the Razorbacks coming off of a by, Collins is our top running back on the board. We expect Bielema to get back to Arkansas football and pound the ball with a rested Alex Collins 30+ times this week.
DraftKings Salary – $5,600
Barkley made our article last week, and ran for 194 yards against Ohio State. This week the true freshman faces on of the nation’s poorest run defenses in Maryland. At $5,600 he’s the top value at the running back position, and a lock for 4x+ value.
DraftKings Salary – $5,400
Averaging just 13.5 DraftKings PPg, Perine may be this season’s biggest dissappointment, but we are taking one more shot on him this week. Texas Tech is the 122nd ranked run defense in the country, and have surrendered big days on the ground every week this season. This should be the week that Pernine turns around his season, he’s too talented a RB not to.
DraftKings Salary – $4,200
Clement’s season has obviously been disappointing… He was a top 5 fantasy RB coming into the year and has missed almost the entire season with injury. With his second full week of practices in, it looks like he’s on track to start against Illinois and should be in your lineups if he does. As solid as Obgunwale and Deal have been, there is a significant difference between those two guys and the uber-talented Clement.
DraftKings Salary – $4,300
James is intriguing this week because he is the best pass catcher on the Kent State team, and this is a game where they are likely going to have to throw the ball way more than they would like. In his first start of the season last week he racked up 20 carries and 8 receptions, and should build on those numbers in what should be a high-volume game.
DraftKings Week 8 CFB WR Picks
DraftKings Salary – $8,600
Coleman is going to be the top play at WR every week for the rest of the season… Even at $8,600, he has hit 4-6x value in every game this season, and this week faces the nation’s 121st ranked pass defense in Iowa State.
DraftKings Salary – $6,500
Boyd is averaging over 8 rec/game in a run-heavy offense, and I think Jim Chaney and Nate Peterman are both just getting used to how good he is. He has a Calvin Johnson sort of ability to high point a ball, and should score multiple touchdowns each week on jump balls. Syracuse hasn’t faced too many pass-heavy offenses, yet comes into this week giving up over 290 ypg through the air. Boyd and Peterman are a solid stack, and we think Boyd has another 2+ touchdown game.
DraftKings Salary – $5,600
Luke Falk finally came through with a monster performance last week and, as a result, Williams had his best game of the season. Marks and Cracraft are great possession receivers, but Williams is the Cougar deep threat and red zone specialist, making him a great play in a mismatch with a weak Arizona secondary.
Rather than go through all of the guys we like as punt options this week, here is a list (in order) of who we are using and you can research each matchup and plug them into your lineups as needed.
- Nate Phillips
- Rodney Mills
- Troy Fumagalli
- RJ Shelton
- JP Holtz
- Canaan Severin
