Top DraftKings Plays for Thursday Night
DraftKings Salary – $11,200
This is a spot where it’s easy to overthink the slate, but keeping it simple is your best bet. Sure the Gasol brothers are solid plays, and there is a chance that Wall goes off against the Nuggets, but Cousins is the smart play. He is more consistent, has a higher ceiling, and crushes the Pelicans (game log below). Even at $11,200, Boogie is a lock to reach 5x+ value which, if you can afford to roster him, is huge when you consider his salary is 20+% of your total team salary. With a ton of mid-level value (Barton, Williams, Cauley-Stein) and bargain targets (Joseph, Portis, Ross, Turner) you can certainly afford to pay up for Cousins here.
DraftKings Salary – $7,500
Brother Pau will get plenty of attention tonight with a matchup against the Laker frontcourt, but we prefer the pace of this matchup for Marc. The Memphis offense runs through Gasol in the halfcourt, and this should be a halfcourt game. Looking at the 1 on 1 matchup, Marc should see Monroe or Miles Plumlee for most of the night, both are enormous mismatches.
FanDuel Salary – $6,700
We like Holiday most nights at $6,700, with no Eric Gordon and an ailing Tyreke Evans. In this matchup he’s almost a must-start. The matchup with Rondo means Holiday is not going to be in foul trouble, is almost guaranteed multiple steals, and on the season he is giving up nearly 44 PPG to opposing point guards.
Top DraftKings Bargains for Thursday Night
FanDuel Salary – $3,600
We all know the drill, injury creates value in daily fantasy. Lowry hasn’t been ruled out yet, but it looks like he will be, creating a ton of minutes and opportunity for a near-minimum Cory Joseph. Despite receiving little to no usage with Lowry ahead of him, Joseph has been productive and should be a point-per-minute guy in this matchup.
FanDuel Salary – $3,500
We are taking a shot on a player we love here, who should also get added run thanks to injuries to Nikola Mirotic and Joakim Noah. Again, Portis has point-per-minute upside, and if he gets rolling, we could see Hoiberg letting Portis play 25+ minutes tonight.
FanDuel Salary – $5,500
We wanted to include at least one player from out group of mid-level value targets that includes Williams, Barton, Turner, Ross, Cauley-Stein and Valanciunas. Williams has really been the Knicks go-to player when Carmelo doesn’t play, which is the case tonight. Toronto isn’t the best matchup, but given the usage and minutes, Williams is a lock with Anthony out again tonight.
