Welcome to week seven of the college football season! We have mostly conference games in this main slate for DraftKings, and some fairly high implied totals given the familiarity the team’s playing in this slate have with one another.
College Football Week 7 QB Plays
DraftKings Price – $8,300
This is the third time in seven weeks that Cornelius has made an article, but he continues to be the best value over $8,000 every week. The Cowboys offense throws it a ton, the defense is terrible, and they generally face weak(er) Big 12 defenses. This Kansas State secondary has been one of our favorite fantasy matchups for the past two seasons. They were the worst power 5 team vs the pass last season and are trending down in a hurry this year. Cornelius looks like a lock to hit 3x and should be able to get close to 4x this week.
DraftKings Price – $6,400
Thompson is a steal at $5,600 as the OK State secondary is struggling mightily once again this season. The Cowboys are 118th vs the pass, giving up 297 yards per game on the year. In terms of fantasy, Thompson is generally more productive as a runner, but this could be his week to put up some passing numbers as he will likely have to throw it a bunch to keep up with Cornelius and Co.
College Football Week 7 RB Plays
DraftKings Price – $7,900
Trayveon’s work load under Jimbo very closely resembles the volume Dalvin Cook saw throughout his career at FSU. Williams has seen 22+ carries in three of his last four games, and has averaged over 34 DraftKings PPG over his past two. South Carolina is a funnel defense, boasting a strong secondary that is currently top 10 against the pass at 168.4 YPG. The front seven is a different story as they gave up 286 rushing yards last week and are allowing over 200 per game on the season (95th in country).
Adrian Killins Jr
DraftKings Price – $6,800
A week after putting up 140 yards receiving, Killins had a season high 20 carries for 113 yards last week. UCF faces a Memphis defense that ranks 98th in the country in run defense, allowing just under 200 YPG, but is a top 25 pass defense. Those numbers should funnel UCF into a game plan that revolves around Killins, Anderson and their run game.
DraftKings Price – $5,500
Ingram has slowly and steadily pried the lead RB role from Tre Watson this season, and last week played arguably his best game of the season against an Oklahoma defense that came in with solid run D numbers. It was his first game this season without a catch, so you can expect some production out of him through the air in this one as well. These aren’t the Baylor Bears of old. For the second straight year, this defense is improved against the pass and are currently only allowing 212 passing YPG. On the ground is a completely different story, where they are allowing over 185 YPG and a healthy 5.7 YPC (good for 118th in the nation). We are predicting this will be the talented freshman’s break out game.
College Football Week 7 WR Plays
DraftKings Price – $6,500
Given the volume of touches he has had since Baylor entered Big 12 play, Hurd has to be on your radar this week against Texas. This Texas defense is solid, but Hurd’s involvement as both a WR and RB should mean that the volume will be there for him to put up some decent numbers. Vegas has the Baylor implied total at 24 points, if they hit that we have to assume Hurd has at least one touchdown possibly two. He put up 35.6 DraftKings points on Oklahoma two weeks ago and could be similarly productive in what could be a trap game for the Longhorns.
DraftKings Price – $6,400
While the volume has been lacking for Hamler this season, the big plays certainly have not. He has scored on 5 of 13 receptions and added a rushing touchdwon in week 2. Michigan State is another one of those funnel defenses. They have the best run defense in the country, but are 120th vs the pass giving up over 305 YPG. Penn State will not be able to run this week, so if they are going to hit their 34 point total and win this monster Big 10 game, it will have to be McSorley and Hamler.
DraftKings Price – $6,300
Zubler’s target share in this offense has been incredible this season… he has been targeted on 37% of Kansas State’s passes with an impressive 71% catch rate. While the numbers haven’t been there every week, we think a matchup with this porous OK State secondary should change that. Thompson has been the more efficient passer in this offense, so the fact that Delton is hurt won’t effect Zubler’s numbers this week.
That is our coverage for the main week 7 college football slate on DraftKings. As always, the podcast version will be out tomorrow. Good luck this week!
